The Cover-up is hard hitting, genre smashing rock band out of Phoenix, Arizona. Combining a unique blend of rock, pop, punk, and core, the band is made up of five long time friends from the Phoenix local scene. They've been playing shows in the Az. scene for several years and have learned the value of hard work; as well as developed a loyal following. Also, having just finished their debut 8 song EP recorded at Clamsville studios, they have already received an overwhelming positive response from shows.

2003 was a busy year for the Cover-up; appearing as the featured band and providing the majority of the sound track for Low Life Video, a thriving new Dvd custom truck zine. With sales of nearly 2000 videos in the first month, and projected sales of several thousands more, the company has provided the band a viable outlet to expose their music nationwide. In addition, the Cover-up has been featured in The State Press as an up and coming rock band with a positive message. Playing at least 3 local shows a month, as well as making an independent music video with a prominent young producer; the Cover-up is keeping up with the hard working pace of today's modern rock bands.

The boys are very optimistic about the future. Barely into their 20's, The Cover-up has matured exponentially throughout their musical careers. Speaking of their work ethic, singer/song writer Joe Cotela states "We all started in bands at the ages of fifteen, so we've seen what needs to be done to make things happen, and we're going to do everything we can. We want to work for it, go on tour, and promote, because when it comes down to it, we want to expose as many people to our music as possible".

With songs like "This Time" "Hope" and "In n Out", their music will have you singing along whether you like it or not. The intent of the music is to combine numerous musical elements together to create well crafted songs. The music is constantly evolving, and the band is always trying to tap into new artistic sources to further progress their ever-changing sound. You can hear influences from the likes of Finch, The Police, Blindside, Zeppelin, Far, and Brand New. Their new EP showcases their astute song writing talent, and diversity, but where they truly shine is on stage. With an exhilarating, non-stop live show, the Cover-up will leave you wanting more.
