No Diving is a rock band with many influences. Started in 2000, their style is like no other artist out there. The best way to describe the style of No Diving is to mention the bands influences. No Diving has a punk rock heart layered with variations of metal, alternative rock, emo, and a clever comedic brain behind it all.

"The First Passage" is No Diving's third full length album and fourth studio record. It is the most distinct album and their finest to date. The album kicks off with "Jana", a hard return from the Manassas, VA rock band, with vicious punk rock riffs, hard vocals, and a powerful drum solo in the middle. "99 Apples" is a comedic take on irish punk with a successful solo from the lead guitarist, Brandon Walz. "To Thine Own Self Be Thou" is the bands first recorded "metal" song with harsh screaming and comedic value. "You'll Be The One To Tell Me" breaks apart from the comedy with melodic verses and hard rocking choruses. "Johnny and Lydia" is the first part of the three part song, "The Dilemma". It is very mellow and creepy on the verses and epic on the chorus. "Standstill" is the second part of the Dilemma which is more of a calm intermission before "Rooney's Descent"- the crowd favorite third part of "the Dilemma". "Rooney's Descent" starts off with a strong bass line and then bursts into a "punk rock Beatles" song. The chorus has the epic characteristics of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and leaves the listeners in awe. The band closes the album with a comedic waltz-like song about an old local band Our Heroes are Heroes Because-the song being cleverly titled "Our Waltzes are Waltzes Because". The band provides a bonus track on the album which is a parody of political gutterpunk bands.

"The First Passage" takes the audience on a 30 minute adventure through stuck up people, irish drinking, black sparrows, heartbreak, Mr. Rooney from Ferris Bueller's day off, and waltzes. No Diving provides the unprovided and floats safely in the world of creativity and originality.
