Taroy has played in bands of every stripe from punk rock and '60s R&B to faux Bollywood New Wave disco. His influences are equally varied including the likes of Steely Dan, Guided by Voices, Queen, Frank Zappa, Pavement, Otis Redding, 10cc, Slayer, and Burt Bacharach. Allmusic.com describes "Employee of the Month" as "an album that sounds like the quirky guys in I.T. were put in charge of indie rock."
