Sea of Monsters is an award winning Chicago based progressive rock group that incorporates diversity of styles and influences, extensive experience and creativity to form a fresh yet unconventional approach to rock and roll music. This CD takes independent music to a new level far surpassing the conventional misconception of indie bands. The familiar yet highly unique sound is accentuated by the expessive lyical and musical vision. Drawing on influences covering wide ranging musical techniques including progressive rock, jazz fusion, blues, heavy metal and 'glam' rock, this band has discovered a singular 'melting pot' formula unlike many of their contemporaries. With all members writing the lyrics and music and a combined total of over 100 years of playing experience, a number of distinct perspectives and subjects are explored and expressed. The CD was co- produced by Phil Bonnet, arguably the greatest engineer and producer to come out of the Chicago area. Phil had produced hundreds of bands including The Smashing Pumpkins and Smoking Popes.
