Let the Music Begin !! ... Southern Alberta's newest Christian Band, Porch_lite, is excited about the release of their debut CD ... Vagabond. This project contains a mixture of original tunes from classic rock to worship ballads. Based in Alberta, Canada this group combines their music with their faith in a way that leaves no doubt of the passion that lies within them. Hometown: Claresholm, Alberta Members: Richard - Vocals and Guitar Originally from BC, this father of five has served as a worship leader in his home church for the past 5 years. A long ways from the beginnings of grade eight guitar class, his passion for his music has led him to Nashville song writing workshops. His passion for his Savior is reflected in the songs of this debut album. Laureen - Vocals, Bass Guitar, Keyboards From her humble beginnings of playing piano in her church when she was only five years old, this home schooling mother of five has an incredible passion for music that is so evident the moment she sits at a piano and begins to play. Since picking up the bass guitar two years ago, a rockin' bass mama has emerged and can't be held back ! David Bruce- Drums David joined us recently, and has been a great addition to the group with his lively personality and years of drumming experience. Jim Bassett- Conga and Percussion Since adding his talent to our CD, Jim has joined our group and added a definite character to our sound. Glen Derksen - Lead Guitar Glen has joined us at the beginning of 2006 and brings a humble heart and amazing talent on the lead guitar. He has over 20 years of playing experience with numerous projects. Band Biography: The members of Porch_lite come from different Christian denominations. They began as a band three years ago as an outreach of their churches to spread their faith through their music. As experienced worship leaders, they have travelled to various church camps and outreaches in Alberta and Saskatchwan. Their passion for music has led to them recording their first CD project consisting of ten original songs ranging from classic rock style to worship ballads.
