Somewhere among the rising heroes of music, POP TRASH begins to shine.
POP TRASH, which officially began July 2001, is the brainchild of nineteen year old Kyle Lowden. This one-man band (much in the vein of Tears For Fears, World Party, Abandoned Pools) plays all of the instruments on POP TRASH's debut effort Tracking Contradiction what Kyle refers to as "The quintessential no-budget album".
POP TRASH's songs appear on the soundtracks of four independent films (Last Seat in the House, Flight of an Angel, Election Day, and The G Is Silent).
Why a one-man-band? "I had been in several bands, as both a front man and a guitar player, and really I was never really satisfied with the quality of the bands. It finally came to the point where I just decided if I couldn't count on anyone else, I'd just be my band. Another motivation was so that I could carve my own destiny, choose who I wanted to play with, and choose whatever musical path I wanted. My music is a lot like Tears For Fears or Radiohead in that I like to evolve and change and try new styles. On Tracking Contradiction I go from trip-hop, to straight up pop and rock, to alternative. I don't know who, besides myself, would let me get away with that?"
