A.C. Cotton's 2001 release, "half way down," received plenty of praise. Magnet, No Depression, and All Music Guide, among many others, all wrote positive reviews of the record. Now, in 2004, the band is ready to hit fans and critics alike with their new record, "Notes for the Conversation" (Ahab Was Right Records), an album filled with fourteen tracks of hard-hitting rock 'n' roll.

The last three years have been spent touring the west coast, making new fans, fighting, replacing band members, and further developing their musical style. In between all of that, somehow, the band found time to write and record
"Notes for the Conversation."

The album reunites vocalist/guitarist Alan Charing, bass player Todd Corbett, guitarist Brett Davis with drummer Derek Brown, and keyboard player Rich Landar.

Recorded at Type Foundry and produced by Mike Coykendall (M. Ward, Fernando, Amelia, Beth Orton), "Notes for the Conversation" is a collection of straight-up, high-energy rock and roll, which finds the band in a more contemplative and experimental mood, moving past the basic roots-rock of "half way down".

With "Notes for the Conversation," A.C. Cotton further explores previous comparisons to the Rolling Stones, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, The Black Crowes, The Band, and Wilco, while Charing's voice and lyrics have earned comparisons to such luminaries as Dylan and Springsteen.

Besides the above-mentioned praise for "half way down," the past three years have found A.C.Cotton placing songs in TV shows such as Providence, The Real World, Ed, Seven Days, Smallville, the Osbournes, and various others.

Following the release of "Notes for the Conversation", A.C. Cotton plans to continue on with their road dog attitude, touring the U.S. and playing as many clubs as they can, while also appearing at festivals such as Bumbershoot, MusicFest NW, New Music West, CMJ, and others.
