Tired of the cheap manufactured music on the radio? Well this is a refreshing change of pace. With its debut album Resin, Wicked Day explodes in a garden of sound. From outlaw country to roots rock - and from folk back to country (and don't forget some blues). Resin is proof that we don't need to be so concerned with the genre, as long as the music is good. Resin transcends labeling. If you are a traditionalist, you should not give it a chance. But the songs are real, clever and well played! Hailing from the Philly 'burbs, the soul of Wicked Day is Jim Kusters and Sean McNally. Kusters and McNally are the co-writers on the CD and list a diverse catalog of influences including Waylon, Dylan, Springsteen, Neil Young and the Beatles. McNally's is the sole voice behind the songs and, as some fans have said, "his grizzly voice is right on for this type of music". Wicked Day employs the talents (and influences) of friends and fellow musicians they call the "Heavy Cats". Among them, J. R. McCarthy's phenomenal guitar work is especially silky on the country-drenched "When I Retire" and the title track, "Wicked Day." Dave Brulenski lays down a sweet guitar solo on "Kyra Leigh," and Graham Perry's piano work is solid throughout. So now the envelope has been pushed! If you can't find something you like on this CD, you'd better check for a pulse. Check out the artist's website: http://www.myspace.com/wickeddaymusic Track List: 1. When I Retire 2. Diamond 3.
