When saloon motives, shadowy stories of open-range crooks and criminals, train robbers and countryside themes are told in compact stories by a sweet voice, where Neko Case intersects with the lush curtains of trip hop rippling in a dusty, prairie breeze, you will find the perfect country noir of the Blue Seeds. With three-dimensional, highly-textured arrangements intertwining strings, crunchy surfy guitars, laid back rock drums threaded through gorgeous vocal tones and a solid bass you can plant your feet on, their self-titled album does a number on the imagination, splashing color and imagery right and left.

THE BLUE SEEDS EP
...like a Neil Young high-fiving a Chris Isaac - take, for example, Amphetamines and Coffee, which has a sort of road movie feel - or perhaps a Cowboy Junkies...

The Blue Seeds
self-titled EP
...imagine what Portishead would have sounded like if their key members had been Québécois and had met at Barfly's bluegrass night... glamorous guitar lines reverberate languidly across the sonic landscape, sometimes wobbling drunkenly towards their destination. Singer Amélie Laflamme narrates the band's mini-epics, which unite downhome instrumentation with seedy downtown overtones...

Bio -

Band members: Amelie Laflamme, Francois Dufault, and guests.
The Blue Seeds is built around a common vision to create a unique sound by bringing a cinematic feel to the music and by blending such music genres as country-noir, folk, and rock. In addition to "conventional" instruments, The Blue Seeds also set out to use eclectic instruments such as the singing saw, metal shoe-cutters, espresso machine, dulcimer, crystal glasses, etc. to add yet another dimension to the songs. In the spring of 2004, The Blue Seeds decided to record their Debut EP (limited edition) in order to introduce the public to their music. Since its release, the group has been constantly playing live shows in order to promote their CD. In addition to promoting their Debut EP, the band has started planning for the realization of their Debut LP planned to be released in 2006.
