Cactus goat gumbo? Attention-deficit hillbilly soul? Somehow the guys in Sloatbucket have taken the deserts of the Southwest, the swamps of Louisiana, the Appalachian hills, the horse-rutted roads of the ancient Mediterranean, the peat bogs of Ireland, the dented head punk and rock radio blacktops they grew up on, and mashed it into something new. This is music that soars around the globe and through the corridors of history, mapping the crevices of the heart, spitting on the footprints of empire, and searching the dust for redemption.

Formed in San Francisco in the late 90s by Matt Heller, Sean Beaudoin, and Yank Clewell, Sloatbucket gigged as an acoustic trio for a few years and released In the Meatyard in 2001. Drummer Henry Kyburg joined the band shortly afterwards.

Sloatbucket released their first full length, full band cd, Rise and Fall, in March 2006.
