On "Westward", Silverhawk performs powerfull renditions of songs written by Sam and John C. Densmore. Based in Portland, OR.The Densmore brothers vocals and songwriting styles have been compared to the Beatles, Pavement, REM, and Modern Lovers.This baritone guitar laced CD features two Ennio Morricone influenced twangy, psychedelic instrumentals and calls to mind words like, "retro" "psychedelic", "alt country" and "post punk". Since 1992, they have performed in several bands together including Olympia, Wa based noise pop band Frequency db, Slow Children, and the Jeremy Wilson Band.They've opened for Frank Black, Screaming Trees, Mike Watt, and the Posies. They've also been employed as studio musicians/songwriters on various productions including projects with Ted Connelly, Bobby Lindstrom, Jeremy Wilson, the Who's orchestral arranger Raphael Rudd, and the son of Mickey Most and former Johnny Hates Jazz producer/songwriter Calvin Hayes.
