Second Hand Poets
Afternoon In Aberdeen

By Dean Ramos - ILLINOIS ENTERTAINER REVIEW

If you're a fan of paintings of stark Midwestern roads like I am, then Afternoon In Aberdeen by Second Hand Poets is just the album for you. Nearly every single track on here is so painfully sincere and beautiful that if the Randy Travis-esque vocals of Dave Thomas doesn't make you wanna break down in tears over your favorite beer, you may need to check your pulse.

'Second Hand Poets are an honest American rock band, in the time of so many new variations on the theme. With traditional lyrics and original compositions, this group isn't afraid to deliver a pure, rock sound.'
--- Andrea Rizzo (Editor's Pick: Digital City Chicago)

Second Hand Poets is a Chicago-based rock & roll band who love to write and play music. They perform original compositions soulfully influenced by such talented songwriters as Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Son Volt, Counting Crows, and Wilco.

David Thomas - Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar

Dan Thomas - Lead Guitar

With long time friends and backing band, Dave May on drums and Robb Pomis on bass, Second Hand Poets combines traditional American rock influences with their own personally developed styles and musical preferences. It is this combination that lets them write fresh and creative music that grooves smoothly.
