PONY RABCO, a San Francisco based, pop-washed Americana quartet, comes on like a soundtrack for Charles Bukowski writing love letters to Traci Lords: sad, painfully open, disappointed, embarrassed and laughably aware of it all. There will always be something romantic about a smiling-near-tears train wreck, a too-long-night and whiskey served straight up. PONY RABCO knows all about it and illustrates these themes four minutes at a time. The band's signature sound comes from their frighteningly conversant lyrics tucked into riff-heavy, emotionally saturated songs that are in one moment unselfconsciously
careless, in another meticulously composed. Always delivering the hook, PONY RABCO's music vacillates
from lush and sweeping to gentle and fragile to raw and
reckless. Whether dipping into a country lament or blasting into 80's tinged pop-rock, they know where they are, where they've been, where they're headed - and they're holding nothing back.

Named after a high school yearbook misspelling, PONY RABCO
is made up of D. Ryon Wilhelm on guitar, Jeff Desira on
bass, keys and backing vocals, W. S. Murray on drums, and Michael Sorensen on vocals and rhythm guitar. Wilhelm, Desira and Sorensen, Bay Area music scene natives that have played together since their teens, rescued
Murray from Tampa, Florida to round out the project and
immediately recorded YOU ARE HERE - EP, their first release.

After selling more than 1000 copies of YOU ARE HERE - EP solely on guerilla marketing tactics, PONY RABCO has
now released their debut full-length album WHERE THE HELL
IS RESCUE? WHERE THE HELL IS RESCUE? was engineered and
co-produced by Jeff Byrd, who has worked with a long list of local and national bands, most recently as sound engineer for Spoon. For fans of REM, Toad the Wet Sprocket or American Music Club, WHERE THE HELL IS RESCUE? will become be an especially welcome addition to their record collections. And at the end of the day, fans of all music have something to hear from Pony Rabco, as the band will continue to make heartbreaking music for anyone with a heart.
