Christopher B Band "The Nature Of The Heart" Apocalyptic forest fires. Missing Los Alamos laboratory nuclear secrets. The peculiar goings-on in nearby Area 51. These are strange and potent times in the high desert hills of New Mexico, and amid all the cosmic chaos, there has emerged a new musical force. The occasion is the pairing of the Steve Miller Band hit songwriter Chris McCarty with some of Santa Fe's finest musicians. Along with McCarty in his new band is Pat Malone, Steve Lindsay and David Bryant with guest artists such as Kenny Lee Lewis (The Steve Miller Band), Key Frances, Mark Clark (Ottmar Liebert Band) and Star Nayea. Together they bring a wealth of talent and experience to this collaboration, which was born in a Santa Fe bar on the same street as North America's oldest house and the Loretto Chapel and its world-renowned "miraculous staircase." Performing McCarty's songs and bringing hypnotic performances to locals and tourists alike has formed of these talents a new musical sound. With their acoustic and electric guitars accompanied by bass and percussion instruments including congas and the Cuban cajun, they are laying down unique melodies and grooves that are reverberating across a musical landscape far from their Southwest desert beginnings. McCarty brings finely honed rock sensibilities that have placed him in the elite ranks of hit songwriters. His successes include Steve Miller's rock classic "Swingtown," which appeared on the multi-platinum albums Book of Dreams and Steve Miller Band Greatest Hits, and which appeared on Pollstar's Top Ten best-selling albums of all time, as well as on the Steve Miller Band Box Set. He has also written for Miller's Fly Like An Eagle (Rolling Stone's "Album of the Year") and Italian X-Rays albums, and he wrote three songs for Miller's Wide River album, including the title track, which was named rock song of the year at the 27th NSAI Awards. McCarty's songs have also helped sell millions of records for recording artists ranging from current country stars like Martina McBride and Highway 101 and rockers like Jars of Clay, and have been used in dozens of big-screen and TV movies. Along the way, he has been awarded numerous gold and platinum albums. Together, these inspired singer/songwriter/musicians have harnessed some kind of new musical energy out of the chaos in the mountains of New Mexico. Chris McCarty and his band are now ready to take it to the world at large. Check out the artist's website: http://christopherbband.com Track List: 1. Swingtown (Chris McCarty & Steve Miller) 2.
