“The gift of Liddell’s music is that he’s adept at blending styles and making it come out with a breezy, comforting quality. His jazzy, world-beat vibes go down smooth and he has the songs and voice to hold court wherever he goes.” says Gary Hizer, Music Editor for the Urban Tulsa Weekly.

Matt Gleason, Music Writer at the Tulsa World Spot Magazine, says “...Steve Liddell’s gossamery pop vocals travel light and passionately over vibrant, groove-oriented landscape that evokes comparisons to Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, and Lenny Kravitz.

Gleason goes on to say “This artist’s new 11-track studio offering, “Goodlove,” finds the soulful singer bolstering elements of his energetic solo acoustic show with his full band. Among th edisc’s highlights are the spicy flamenco stylings on “The Ballad of Carl and Julie,” Latin-flavored, Santana-like riffs on “ Yes,Yes,Yes(Rock You Girl),” and soft Wurlitzer on the intimate ballad “Plant Me Underground.”

Music has always been a major part of Steve Liddell’s life. As a child growing up in a rural small town with no other kids around his own age, his weekend entertainment consisted of listening to records by great R&B/Soul singers like Teddy Pendergrass, Al Green, The Jackson 5 and Prince.

As a teenager, Liddell was introduced to many new styles of music ranging from the hip hop sound of LL Cool J, Run DMC and the Beastie Boys to the New Wave and Rock sounds of The Cure, Duran Duran, Guns N' Roses and his major influences Terrence Trent D'Arby, Sade and Edie Brickell. He even found a respect for the storytelling of Classic Country music and contemporary artists of the time like Alabama, Ronnie Millsap and Dwight Yoakam. More recently he has been compared to artists such as Jack Johnson and Ben Harper.

Steve Liddell's diverse music also blends in elements of world music, particularly African and Latin.

For the past six years Steve Liddell has been performing his original music and has played shows from coast to coast and on the islands of Hawai'i. Liddell has also performed in the world famous city of Rio de Janerio, Brazil.

Whether he is rocking the solo gig or backed by his talented band Steve Liddell's music is inviting and engaging and is sure to have everyone moving to it's infectious grooves.

Liddell's musical style is reminiscent of his past influences, while maintaining an original and unique sound that is all his own.
