Steve started playing music at a very young age. Growing up with his Dad's record collection at his side, his influences are quite diverse and span from classics like Johnny Cash, AC/DC and Supertramp, to more recent artists including Bright Eyes, Hayden and Ben Harper. When he was just 12 years old, Steve formed his first real band, singing and playing guitar in a hardcore outfit called My Neighbourhood Doornobb, which lasted a few years and resulted in a 10-song cassette tape, "No Place For Ignorance". The album was recorded in Sudbury, Ontario with John Hartman at Atomic Studios and was well received by the local music scene.

Halfway through high school, Steve formed another hardcore band named Afferent. This time however, Steve and band mate Serge Ouellette split up the drum and guitar duties, switching it up for a number of songs and performing backup vocals on most of the tracks. They wrote a number of songs and recorded a demo in their practice space with friend Luc Delparte on a four-track recorder. After a string of successful shows, they scraped enough money together to go into Easter Island Studios (Sudbury, Ontario) with Billy Bruhmuller and recorded "Through Emotion", a 10-song album that garnered some interest from a few European record labels. Unfortunately, after a few lineup changes and members living in different cities due to work and school, the band was slowly dissolved.

While living in Ottawa and starting out a career as a Graphic Artist, Steve spent the next few years playing his acoustic guitar and wrote several songs. Testing out the material at guitar jams and open-mic nights, he slowly pieced together what was to be his first solo album, "A Step Away From Comfort". He invited a few of his friends to play on the album (Drums - Dan Lalande, Keys - Andre Lachance, Violin - Julie Crispin, Bass - Pierre Robillard, Backup Vocals - Danielle Gravelle) and went back to Easter Island Studios to record the 14 songs with Billy. Once finished, Steve handed the CD over to his roommate Randy, and after many late-night "music biz" chats, decided to release the album on his record label, Barcode Records.

Steve is now working on booking a tour and promoting his amazing debut album, A Step Away From Comfort.
