On September 11, our world changed forever. That night, my boys and I huddled together and sang over and over again, the Lord is always with you, no matter what, no matter what. As I comforted my children with the truth that I know about God's character, I was reminded that calamity does indeed clarify. Fall of 2001 was a tragic season for millions of people around the world as a result of terrorism. But, our family experienced a different -- more intimate -- tragedy a few days before September 11 -- the tragedy of divorce. In no way can our loss compare to those who lost loved ones on September 11, but unfortunately grief has become a companion to many -- both children and adults. My hope is that these songs, recorded in the summer of 2001, would be a part of the healing that is going on for us as a nation and for you as an individual. As I have comforted my children with many of these songs over the past few years, the God of the Universe has reminded me that I am His child and He is with me no matter what. His providence will never take me or my boys to a place where His grace can't sustain us. And for that, I am profoundly grateful.
