Orphan of Love is a diverse piece of work with rockabilly, folk, blues and rock n roll influences.

“ It’s basically a contemporary acoustic rock record with a bunch of unique expressions of standard music formats.” Gus explains.

Although the record is diverse it has a flow and rhythm. It’s not a schizophrenic gathering of whatever the artist felt like doing. The record has a life of it’s own. It feels like a journey, with many stories, and concepts, all leading back to the human spirit.

“ I’m a Zen meditator of 11 years. I can’t help but express the truths of life as seen through the lens of spiritual practice.”

Whether it’s the ache of loneliness as in the song “Abandoned” or the sultry, seduction of a gorgeous women in “Closeness”. there is always a theme of returning to one’s power, to some form of safety that is beyond our frantic human predicament.

Orphan of Love is here to make a statement to the world: I am unique, I am blessed and cursed, I am graceful and destructive and I will rise like a Phoenix through it all, and live and authentic loving life.

Orphan of Love is a record worth listening to.

“Each of us must make our own true way and when we do, that way will express the universal way. This is the mystery”
