Gump is a band from Long Island New York.We write and play music because it’s our passion.We formed as a band in 2000,and since we went to High School together,we were able to blend in our different tastes and styles giving us our own sound.We do not sound like anyone other than Gump.Our music is basically about love and war,two things most people do not understand,we are human beings.The band is often asked “who do you sound likeâ€,know one really knows.I guess we are a “rock†band with alternative styles combined with pop,jazz and funk which blends and flows in to the songs.Some have said we sound like Steely Dan,Journey and Phish without the jamming?You decide when you click on. We all have had musical training,some more,some less.Our vocalist James Cavaliere plays acoustic guitar for us,along with singing songs which leave you thinking about “when that happened to meâ€.His vocals blend in perfectly for our style,his lyrics will leave you thinking about many things.Our guitar player Steve Cohen is an extremely talented musician who is at the forefront of the music.His styles,both electrically ,and acoustically come out in all of our songs.His knowledge,and command over his many guitars,along with creative chords,and tones will resonate in your head for sometime.Our drummer Brett Reicher has been playing drums since the age of six.One of his many attributes is his “timingâ€.We call him the “Human Metronomeâ€.His creative styles and laser like precision stick out when he is behind his kit.Our bass player Dave Schwartz also plays keyboards,writes,and compliments James with his melodies.His bass playing is the backbone of the band,he also has impeccable timing,and does a lot of the arranging for the bands music.As far as our name,it stands for “genuinely unique musical production,though there is more to that story.Go ahead and click on to our music,we are interested in hearing from you.For those of you on Long Island,we will be playing at the Long Island Music Festival which is 6/21-6/24...no times or location have been announced yet,we will keep you posted,and would love to see you there.GUMP Check out the artist's website: http://gumpband.homestead.com Track List: 1.
