The original idea for the Blue EP was to record songs that would be used as demo/promotional material, but seeing how Free-Form and Strange were basically one extended album that was split into two different releases and no new material had been recorded since 2002, Davi was convinced that it was time to put out something fresh and new that reflects his growth as an artist. Recording began in June 2004 and ended at the end of September. Unlike the uneven quality of Free-Form and Strange the songs on the Blue EP flow and fit together perfectly.
