April 24th, 1981 marked the arrival of Amick Joseph Cutler into th hearts and lives of the Cutlers. His family lived in Jacksonville, Florida at the time. Since 1982, Amick has lived in California, Oklahoma and as of 11 years ago, back in Florida. Amick grew up in a family with 3 sisters. Growing up in the home of a pastor who loved music, Amick was surrounded with musical influences his entire life. Amick's first instrument was the drums. They were followed by a brief period of saxophone playing. At the age of 15 Amick was given his first guitar and a chord chart. At that point music took on an entirly new meaning in his life. Since Havana offered no social life for this 15 year old geek with glasses, practicing 8 hours a day was not unusual. Songs came for a while but not many lyrics. During the illness of his younger sister Kailyn in 1996, God began showing Amick that he did have something to say and his music was the medium in which to say it. At that time God began teaching him of how life is often taken for granted, and our testimony is far from worn out. Through these teachings the Lord gave him the boldness to minister musically as well as vocally in church and highschool chapel services. When his sister Kailyn died from leukemia, life meant more to him than just routine appointments and agendas. It was a time to express why we feel the way we do, why we feel lost in this desolate world, why love has just become a mere word and how to change all that. God gave Amick a song that brought peace, understanding and love beyond comprehension. It was the song about his sister Kailyn. Since that time God has opened many doors for Amick to testify and minister about the faithfulness of God and His saving and sustaining power. Amick is a graduate of Tallavana Christian School in Havana Florida and attended Tallahassee Community College for about 2 Years (not quite enough according to his mother).
