Matt Ramsey is a new hard rock artist for the independent record label Outsource Records. Matt just completed his debut album "Pull" for Outsource. His tunes are guitar driven rock songs that are shaking things up in the pretty pop colored recording industry. In his music, you can hear the influences of such rock heavy weights as: The Black Crowes, Van Halen, Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, and Alice in Chains. Even though the above influences are present, they do not overshadow Matt's own powerful presence in rock music. His lyrics are very personal, but they ring honest and true. Matt is one of the few true voices to express itself in a world of packaged and programmed pop music. At the tender age of 11 Matt picked up his first guitar. From there, he began his musical journey. As Matt grew musically, he was mainly viewed as an accomplished rock guitarist. He lent his guitar skills to various artists and groups, but it was done at the cost of his own voice not being expressed. Shortly after graduating College, Matt signed with Outsource Records. Finally, Matt was given the chance to share his songs, and his rock purist mentality with the world. In the summer of 2002 Matt finished the songs that became "Pull", Matt's debut album for Outsource Records. In October 2002, he went into the studio joined by drummer Paul Buchignani and bassist Jon Weese. They recorded various days throughout the month of October; they completed the recording and mixing in only 6 studio days. Matt's recording philosophies for this project harkens back to the early years of Van Halen and The Black Crowes, when a week in the studio was all that was needed. On the "Pull" project, Outsource gave Matt the production responsibilities, and this provided Matt with a large degree of artistic freedom. The album was created with layers of thick tube amp driven guitars, as well as some softer sounding vintage tones. As producer, Matt achieved a sonically clean rock album. However, he did not cover the feelings and emotions of the songs with an over produced soulless pop package. In the coming year, one can expect to see Matt taking to the road to promote his album. It will be a rock show you don't want to miss. Expect to hear big things from Matt in the coming year Check out the artist's website: http://www.mattramsey.net Track List: 1. Clean 2. Middle 3.
