EggNoggin, a side project of Caramelize's Hillary Maroon and J Why, springs forth with its "Jack Boston" release (on head fulla brains). It's strong indie rock with its genesis in the fabled Boston band, Jack. Distorted vocals, stinging guitars and feedback buzzes give way to sweet harmonies, melodic bass lines and loping martial beats. The eleven tracks on "Jack Boston" tell tales of doubt and tentative love, recalling the best work of the Replacements, the Blake Babies and Throwing Muses, with some klezmer, reggae/ska and (Tom) Waitsian surprises thrown in too. You'll be singing along compulsively in no time. Check out the artist's website: http://headfullabrains.com/eggnoggin.htm Track List: 1. Things Hated Now 2. Dr. Glenville's Safety Net 3.
