~~ Review from a recent buyer: "I like it a lot, and for all the same reasons as Opium (another release by David DeMordaunt). There's just a vibe to your music that I really respond to." David DeMordaunt is a songwriter/guitarist/singer whose music encompasses a broad range of styles and moods. He is thus a challenge to categorize, however, this CD might be said to be reminiscent of REM or Live. A common element throughout the CD is the interplay of acoustic and electric guitars. The songs have an overcast aura, and they tend to be linear in composition. Lyrically, they tell stories or take the listener on twilight shaded journeys. Musically and lyrically, the songs continue to reveal subtleties as time passes. David cites a broad range of musical influences, including the Stranglers, Kate Bush, Tool, Don McLean, Ultravox, Jane Siberry, vintage Metallica, Harry Chapin, Heather Nova, Black Sabbath, the Moody Blues, Jethro Tull and Kula Shaker, to name a few. Featured on the disc is drumming and percussion by fellow San Francisco musician Mac Leckrone, who also shares production credits. Also featured are some guitar solos from Arizona based musician Bill Voigt, whose musical vision is very much in line with David's.
