AC*QUI*ESCE [àkwee éss] intransitive verb - to go along with something: to agree or comply with something passively rather than expressing approval or support.

Equally inspired by pop tunesmiths like U2 and Oasis as well as practitioners of the raw-boned riffs of fellow New Yorkers The Bogmen and Knockout Drops, Acquiesce has settled comfortably in the NYC club scene and extended their sphere of influence up and down much of the East Coast. Their debut five song EP, "...If You Say So", sold over 1,200 copies at shows alone. This self titled disc is their first full-length album. It was produced by Robbie Adams (U2, Smashing Pumpkins, Vic Thrill) in Nov/Dec of 2002. With its release the band stands poised to take their show to a national audience.

Formed in 2001, singer/songwriter Brett Kohart, guitarist Dan Sweeney, bassist Alec Senese, and drummer Jim Spengler's local club success arrived swiftly in the Big Apple, mostly due to a devoted fan base craving their energetic live performances and assembly of inspired songs. Acquiesce made their live debut in the winter of 2001, and the word of mouth spread quickly. Their combustible live performances propelled them to packed and frequently sold out shows at venues like Mercury Lounge, Don Hill's, Arlene Grocery, The Elbow Room and Lion's Den. Acquiesce's constantly growing fan base has also reached over one hundred people a show in Boston, Washington DC and North Carolina. Look for them coming to a city near you.
