Barry Gibson began singing as a child in his hometown of Miamisburg, Ohio. He sang in church and school choir until he joined his first band, 'Odds Against' in 1982 when he began writing original music for the first time. Numerous formations of his band '1111' (Eleven Eleven) and several albums later, Gibson finally received world-wide recognition through his nomination in 1999, his award in 2000 and yet another nomination in 2001 into the Los Angeles Music Awards as "Outstanding National Artist". Barry has also been nominated for "Outstanding Male Vocalist" and "Album of the Year" in 2002. Barry continues to record and also released a new CD in the Spring of 2002 What you are holding is a record of his music & his life. Barry is also perfoming at the Los Angeles Music Awards 2002. HBO has chosen two of Barry's songs to feature in an upcoming movie. As of 2002, Barry is still quite diligently seeking to send his music out to the world.
