The Hurricane System is a collective of musicians with members in San Francisco, Oakland, and Brooklyn. Primarily a studio supergroup, THS has as its mission to create a soul and jazz based brand of futuristic rock and roll. Its members will typically lock themselves in the studio for weeks at a time trying to figure out how yesterday's rock and soul hits would sound if they were played in the not-so-distant tomorrow. THS has been described as a coarse blend of ELO, Steely Dan, Beck, Grandaddy, and Bill Withers. But we all know the truth: nobody ever sounds like the groups they're compared to.
