Press Reviews
December 29th, 2005 VILLIANS ALWAYS BLINK
http://thetrainingground.blogspot.com/2005/12/attorneys.html#links

Every time a song by The Attorneys comes up on my playlist, I think, I should definitely post about them. Then I get distracted and never do. So now, I finally am. Over the past few weeks, the Attorneys have been getting some attention from some bloggers (One Louder, YANP, Motel de Moka, Skatterbrain, and Grape Juice Plus). The Attorneys are yet another great rock band from Brooklyn making really catchy music. It will be interesting to see what they do in 2006.

The Attorneys are William Ryan George (bass, pianos, Fosters, vocals), John Wlaysewski (guitars, Claps, melodic noise machine, vocals), and Colin Schiller (drums, percussion, sleigh bells, vocals).
Check out the Attorneys on MySpace and on their other Attorneys on Myspace .

With hand claps, straight-up power chords and William Ryan George's distinctive enunciation, The Attorneys' "Talk About it" is an irrefutably catchy classic rock tune. Check out this Greenpoint band's MySpace page for "Talk About It" and three other tracks.

The Attorneys are a throwback to 80s rock, minus the bad hair. Check out The Way I Want to Love

The Attorneys

As a child, I was thrilled to learn the concept of a lawsuit. I vividly remember how hard my parents would laugh when I'd suggest that the solution to any problem was to sue someone. It was for this reason that I was jokingly encouraged to be a lawyer.

What this has to do with Brooklyn-based rockers, The Attorneys, I have no idea. I was browsing BTAE the other day when I saw a groovy little post about a band that was described as being 'a throwback to 80s rock, minus the bad hair.' As if that didn't seal the deal, the band messaged me later that night. Sign from God? Probably not. However, this song isn't half bad. If you aren't won over, just wait for the switch-over at the 2:16 mark. It's like a completely different song!

The response to The Attorneys has been quite positive, so I thought I'd provide you with a couple more tracks! 'Stay' is melodic and so catchy you will find yourself singing along before the song is over. 'The Way I Want to Love' remix sounds like the version I posted earlier. Oh well, here it is again.

New Attorneys Demos

The Attorneys sent me a few brand spankin' new demo tracks over the weekend. Theyre a bit different than the song i posted last week, but I almost like them more. Anyway, definitely check em out and let me know what you think.

[MP3]: The Attorneys - Open Soul
This is my personal favorite. I really like the intro, it's sounds a lot like Joy Division and then after the intro it switches itself to something more along the lines of early Echo & the Bunnymen.

[MP3]: The Attorneys - Time to Fly
This song is all about the vocals, theyre amazing. The vocal harmony in the chorus is beautiful, it'll have you listening a second time for sure.

[MP3]: The Attorneys - Mash Note
Guitar delay solos, tupperware percussion, hand claps, shakers... what more could you ask for? If this goes on their album I think it should be the last song ;)

The Attorneys create some downright kinky songs. I dare you to listen to "lonely guy" without being tempted to hit repeat.
Catchy unpretentious rock from NYC. Yummy.

Biography
Biography
Three Boys from Brooklyn charge into the musical fray with melancholy, multilayered vocals and a canny combination of staccato riffs and expansive atmosphere.
William Ryan George had complete strangers of both sexes proclaiming their love of him when he made his first appearance at The King of Karaoke's Trash Bar Friday Night. His fragile yet complex demeanor is gentle and approachable, and so is his songwriting . A Brian Wilson for generation Y.
John Wlaysewski is making waves in the indie guitar community with his double mono split delay amp setup, used to great effect on instrumental numbers that have the mensa members in the audience scratching their heads. A self taught musical experimentalist , he has been compared to The Edge and Robert Fripp in the same sentence.
Colin Schiller has navigated the musical landscape of NYC and is known throughout New York, NJ and all of Long Island. His martial, deliberate drum style and commitment to creativity guarantee that every song has been exhausted of options before drum decisions are made. A timing genius and a rock god in the making, Colin will often come out from behind the drum set to sing with the rest of the band.

note: Sparrow Gardens was recorded analog on a sailing vessel docked off Port Rene. No pro-tools doctoring in evidence. Pencil Factory was recorded in Greenpoint, Brooklyn at an abandoned pencil factory.
