Rhetoric Tuesday has grown and developed into something it has never been before, and with that, the name has changed. We appreciate your endless support and encourage you to grow with us. Welcome to LANDER. This album is a recording done by the members of LANDER under the name of Rhetoric Tuesday. Look for the new LANDER album on cd baby this next MARCH! The Lander signature sound maintains the soul that Rhetoric Tuesday once had but in a different body. Only a few songs have carried over into the new project and the new material is always evolving and growing and changing. To classify the genre, Lander has evolved from a "pop-rock" sound to a folk "epic-rock" feel. Lander songs and lyrics have maintained the R.T. signature of simplicity but in the lights of classic singer/songwriter folk, but surrounded by tones that are deliberate and "epic" with many layers. Lander is impressive on an emotional level, as well as, musically. Each song is passionate and real- always telling stories, creating moods and atmospheres and sincerity. Blending classic acoustic compositions with timeless rock n roll, the Lander musicians combine their many influences to create a sound of its own. Born in Lander, Wyoming, singer/songwriter Tyler Stenson (24), presents his “soulfully delivered, articulate lyrics†within a campfire song. As a musician of two years and a student of language, Stenson combined efforts with drummer Tommy Alfson (23) to begin the pop-rock sensation, Rhetoric Tuesday. As friends from high school, Stenson and Alfson have been together since 2002, all the while searching for the pieces of the puzzle. One particularly depressing night at the Dublin Pub, Alfson and Stenson played a 3-piece with a hired bass player, in a desperate attempt to salvage Rhetoric Tuesday. Randomly, Stenson announced for the first and last time that Rhetoric Tuesday was in need of a lead guitarist. Through a series of random events, a friend of a friend mentioned that a friend of a friend was new to town and looking to play guitar in a band. Ken Hess (24) had just returned to Portland after a year at sea where he played in orchestras for various cruise ship companies. His years before that were spent in Boston where he earned a degree from the Berklee College of Music and graduated with honors. After meeting a few times, it was clear that Hess could flat out play the six-string. After a month of gigging with hired bass players, Stenson, Alfson and Hess, auditioned a number of promising bassists. Mike Schulz (28) was another friend of a friend that was new to Portland, this time from Ashland, OR. Mike had spent his years studying music, Tuba and guitar but ultimately found his passion with the bass. A friend of a friend, known as the World Wide Web introduced the growing band to the newest member of the group, Jeremy Seitz (24). From Corvallis, OR, Jeremy had spent his life playing the saxophone and guitar. As a former singer, Jeremy moved to Portland and ultimately turned to the keyboard. He contributes piano, organ, strings and all of the other sounds that make the Lander sound truly epic. After collecting their life-experiences, each member is now a Portlander and working to continually press and stretch the Lander sound. Combining pasts to make Lander what it is today, the Lander musicians are a mixture of souls and colors that inspire the listener. Check out the artist's website: http://landerband.com Track List: 1.
