Malia Star Bio Serendipity: being in the right place at the right time. For Malia Star, this aligning of the planets occurred as an outlandish adolescent growing up in Hawaii. “I remember being this rebellious, out of place sixteen year old and getting the lead role in the school musical. From the moment the curtain opened, something else just took over, a power that I was completely unaware of and I felt comfortable in my own skin. I knew that this was what I was meant to do, it was like, “Oh, this is what it feels like to be home, to belong.“ Malia dove head first into performing and has never looked back. After conquering the stage in a number of musicals, including “Little Shop of Horrorsâ€, “Greaseâ€, and “Guys and Dollsâ€, she headed down the road of film and television, guest starring in “Angelâ€, “Oliver Beeneâ€, “Drowning Monaâ€, and the soap opera, “Passionsâ€, amongst others. After creating success in the TV and film industry, she had an undeniable urge to follow her true passion, MUSIC. Malia honed her craft performing a wide array of musical styles in venues all over the world, including various corporate show bands, cruise ships, and theme parks. She also created, choreographed, and produced one of the hottest shows in town, “3-D VAâ€, which is currently running on the Las Vegas Strip at the Aladdin Casino and Resort. Malia is hard at work writing, recording, and co-producing her second solo original project and rockin’ the Sunset Strip! Working with an eclectic array of musicians and producers, such as Mark Schulman (Cher, Velvet Revolver) and Mitchell Sigman (Berlin), her sound is both original and eclectic. Her soulful and sultry voice combines with her edgy alternative style leaving the listener with a new guilty pleasure. Living in Los Angeles, Malia Star is blessed to work full time as a musician.
