The Debut EP by Widescrean Reason slightly resembles The Arcade Fire, Elliott Smith, and The Flaming Lips. The group's influences include Wilco, Nick Drake, and Stars.

4 guys and a girl:

Widescreen Reason has created music together for over 7 years with the exception of veteran bassist Brad McCarter who joined the team two years ago. The Santa Barbara band mates are drummer Matt Steele, guitarist Andy White, vocalist Gabriel Friley, bassist Brad McCarter, and vocalist Dana Friley.

Widescreen Reason presents a mature and collaborative debut EP filled with meaning and verve.

Three-fifths of the members of Widescreen Reason also offer a simpler and quieter, lullaby-driven project under the name Clark (found at CD Baby). It's a sound that nods to Nick Drake and Elliott Smith's quieter moments.
