Recorded at New York City's Soundtrack Studios, Nell Bryden's latest EP encompasses all the elements and experiences of love. With Nell Bryden, experience counts. From growing up in Brooklyn studying her father's impressionist paintings, to watching from the wings of her mother's classical concerts; from her adult travels in France, Thailand and Australia, to living on an Arizona sky-diving drop zone, this 25-year-old Wellesley College grad has lived a full life. Nell talks about the songs on her latest release:

"White Rose was written to give someone hope when their life has been devastated by something out of their control. The chorus, "Save a white rose for me," is a way of saying, "You know, I'm going to get through this. No matter how hard it gets, it's all going to be okay."

Daylight is about all the disbelief, insomnia, and withdrawal that comes with having your heart seriously broken. It's everything that comes up when you are lying in bed at night all by yourself, left to your own thoughts. All you can do is obsess about it, and you just can't get over it. Daylight is the relief. During the day there are lots of people around to take your mind off of things. It's easier to find distraction.
Meridian is very much a summer song. I wrote it while on tour, taking a break in this tiny, middle of nowhere town in California. I was staying with my aunt and uncle who have been married for many years. Hearing their stories, watching them interact, I thought they were so sweet and understanding with each other that it inspired me to write a song about love that works and lasts. It's about all the memories you save up going through life with your best friend and true love.
Goodbye is a breakup song that is very different from Daylight. It's about wanting to stay friends with your ex, because you really care about the person and believe in them but circumstances aren't allowing you to be together. You love them, but you know it's the right thing to do...even though you are going to miss them."

Nell's previous release Day For Night (157 Records, 2003), was praised by critics from Timeout New York to UK's Logo Magazine. They applauded her voice as distinctive, beautiful and emotional. Amplifier Magazine acclaimed her songs and voice as dazzling and impressive. The album was supported with an east coast tour and residencies in NYC's East Village. Tracks from the record were added to college and AAA playlists across the country, and were featured on Q104.3 "Out of the Box" (New York's #1 New Music Show). All songs are available online at all digital music stores including iTunes.
