Ebbtide is now only a fond memory. In late January 2000 after a two week tour in California the pressures of working together and artistic differences began to take a toll of their friendships, so they parted ways to pursue other paths with their lives. They agreed to so the sophomore CD project which they had already written for and planned on doing. This became complicated when Joe (drummer) decided to move to San Fransisco, but ended up working out OK in the end. Joe flew up and recorded tracks for a few songs, but the rest were programmed by Caleb (keys, engineer), which helped give the band a new sound. Also, there was dust.

...And this IS what really happened. If you don't believe it, or think that it shouldn't have happened, all I can say is that I'm sooooooo sorry. No intentional harm (though there is some sarcasm in my apology) or hurt feelings were meant by it.

The guys definitely don't discount the awesome experiences they had and the opportunities they had to minister, though they never really set out to be a ministry. The guys are all still friends today and feel extremely relieved that they are now freed up to pursue music in other capacities and move on with their lives. Don't you agree that that is a great thing? God never leaves us hanging...

In 2002, Marc recorded a solo project of original worship songs called "My King, I Bow Down". You should check it out. Also, Marc is currently working on an EP entitled "Coming Alive". Caleb, Michael and Dean formed a yet un-named band similar (in fact, far outreaching in wierdness) to the sounds you'll find on 900 People. Joe is now drumming with them too, so basically it's ebbtide without Marc, and a completely different sound. Think Radiohead-ish.

The moon is quite dusty you know.

Michael did a fair share of writing for the 900 People album, and one never knows what might come out of that boy, so keep your ears perked for what is coming from his new group with Caleb and Dean. Though Caleb, Dean and Michael are all married now, the three of them are quite wily and restless and always on the search for some scrub gear to create awesome new sounds. Joe is, well... Joe.

So that's ebbtide in a nutshell. Don't you feel informed?

Thanks for the support... buy the CD's and remember to wear your space wanderer's helmet when you walk on Mars.

This is your captain signing off.
