Funk, jazz and rock meshed together for an alchemy of great rugged and raw Southwest sounds for all ages. It rips, it rocks, and it'll make your toes tap. Pander didn't want to go that typical homegrown country or heavy guitar rock known to come out of the Lone Star State. Lead singer Shawn Pander left Soular Slide to form The Pander Band. This Cd is the last project he did with his previous band. With good looks and a sexy, unique voice, Shawn Pander, lead singer/songwriter formerly of the pop/groove band Soular Slide, went for a little Stevie Wonder, a little Dave Matthews, and a whole lot of Pander... translation good songs with a good groove Before Pander went out on his own, his former project, Soular Slide was always in the spotlight. In May of 2000 the band performed on Houston's #1 live morning talk show, ABC-Channel 13's The Debra Duncan Show. They won the talk show's local band talent search. Pander's former band won Shiner Bock's Battle of the Band contest in Houston and played Bocktoberfest 2000 in Shiner, Texas. In April 2001 they were selected to showcase their music at the NeMO Music Conference in Boston. And the Houston Press nominated them as one of Houston's best 2001 Funk/R&B bands. Houston's only daily newspaper, the Houston Chronicle recently ran a big story on the guys in the Business section of the Sunday, July 8, 2001 edition. And the Houston Press found them newsworthy in late July 2001 when they too ran a spread about Pander and his former band. Check out the artist's website: http://www.shawnpander.com Track List: 1.
