Though seemingly named after a high velocity projectile weapon (the SLR rifle), this musical group abhors the very idea of violence. SLR- Show Love & Respect, hails from the western end of the island of Jamaica...Negril. Comprising of seven members...mostly brothers/sisters and cousins,this dynamic group is much more than simply a great band of musicians. They see themselves more as messengers of God and consequently social commentators. Though this album is not a Gospel record, they are just as much at home playing strict spiritual selections as they are doing these romantic cuts featured on this CD.
