IMAGINE WRITING A SONG DOWN ONTO A PIECE OF PAPER...LIKE A STORY OR A POEM. THEN IMAGINE PLAYING THE ELECTRIC GUITAR, THE BASS GUITAR, THE ACOUSTIC GUITAR, THE KEYBOARD, THE SYNTHESIZER, THE TAMBOURINE, AND THE DRUMS ALL BY YOURSELF. THEN IMAGINE YOURSELF SINGING THE LYRICS OVER THE TOP OF ALL OF THAT WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM ANYONE ELSE ON THE PLANET. THEN DO THAT 11 MORE TIMES. THAT IS WHAT I DID IN MY HOME RECORDING STUDIO TO MAKE THIS CD.

Simply Jason - Singer, Guitarist

My true passion is the guitar. I learned how to sing and play guitar a few years ago when I started a band out in Arizona called Fire Sky. My younger brother Jonathan and my "older brother" Steve joined up with me and we played music, but we could never find a singer...so I took on that job as well. Later I auditioned and landed the part as the lead singer for a band called Mr. Dead, also out in Arizona. Both bands were popular and got local radio airplay. I moved back to California in 2002 and now I live in Laguna Beach.

Simply Jason - Bass Guitarist

The transition from guitar to bass was effortless...larger strings and fewer of them. I apply simple lines where a song needs a full "bottom" end and I incorporate a "walking bassline" to help carry the melody. I use the bass guitar to create expression, establish mood, and hold the song together.

Simply Jason - Drummer

I bought my first drum set 5 months ago. I taught myself how to play during the recording process of this CD. I called my friends Steve and Carlos and also watched MTV and VH1 to learn how to approach the drums, and my playing gets a little better with each new song.

Simply Jason - Keyboard and Synthesizer

When it comes to playing the keyboard or a synthesizer I use a fundamental approach. I apply notes conservatively to facilitate the creation of a certain mood or atmosphere in a way that augments the overall sonic quality of the composition. In other words, a note here and a note there with a step on the sustain pedal...got it?
