Simmering is a 5 piece original modern rock band based in Chicago. Although the band originated as a popular college band playing covers and entertaining frats and bars at U of I, Simmering has solidified over the years into an original songwriting force with a strong emphasis on musicianship as well as entertainment value. It's dedicated and loyal fan base supports it's many electrifying shows and successful ventures. The band's sound has been compared to some, but carries a certain midwestern ethic that sticks it's head above the crowd. Versatile but focused, Simmering has had several accomplishments through the years, including winning the National Hard Rock Cafe Battle of the Bands in 2001 and joining the top three in 2002. The band is a melting pot of varied influences and musical backgrounds, from the older classics to jazz to pop and beyond. With this myriad of music flavors, they have the songwriting recipe to entertain a wide variety of spectators, and their energy level definitely won't disappoint.
