Ron Burke, President of Z Music Says:

"TINCTURE draws from a variety of influences to create a sound that is uniquely their own. The musicianship on their debut CD is strong, complemented by tight vocal harmonies. This is a band that cannot be placed in any one musical category... they thrive on diversity, and it keeps things interesting. Tincture has a unique mixture crafted into their own musical bag. Buy the CD, and if you get the opportunity - see them live. And be inspired... they recorded the CD themselves, and it's great!"

Who We Are:

San Francisco-based Tincture is an emerging rock band which independently released its debut CD, "Easier Said Than Done". Band members include: Mikel Thompson (Vocals/Guitar), David Taylor (Vocals/Bass), Matt McLean (Guitar/Back up Vocals), Jeremy Hoenig (Drums/Back up Vocals).

Our Sound:

Tincture creates a sound that is uniquely their own. With hints of rock, pop, funk, blues and jazz, this is a band cannot be placed in any one musical category. They thrive on diversity and it keeps things interesting.

This dynamic rock band has two vocalists that can either take the lead or harmonize which makes a unique vocal style. The end result of collaborations between these twisted lyricists is songs that are each their own special worlds to live in. The suck you in to the stories with lyrics that paint a picture of life in the big city, peoples inner struggles, relationships and trying to maintain artistic integrity while participating in the machine. The barbed hooks, 3 1/2-part harmonies and colorful melodies create a vibe of pure energy that will get you pumped up and feeling alive.

Notable Achievements:

Tincture was featured on the cover of GIG Magazine's March 2002 issue. The 4-page article and corresponding photos explained how the band recorded and self produced their successful album. More than 30,000 read the story of this up-and-coming band.

"We feel that addressing Tincture's experience is of great value to our readers. With a record 91% of GIG subscribers taking actions as a result of reading an article or review, we hope that more bands become confident to self-produce a professional-sounding CD." - Bill Evans, Editor of GIG Magazine.

Z music, a Los Angeles-based Independent A&R review and music production company, has selected Tincture as a Featured Artist. The band will also be featured in Z Music's Los Angeles pre-Indie Sessions Showcase, Friday, September 6, 2002. The event will showcase the band to over 1000 top music industry professionals expected to attend.
