"Canada's masters of social and political satire" Local Anxiety were one of the top comedy acts on the much-mourned MP3.com -- at one pointing owning ten of the top forty spots on the political satire charts. Their hour-long TV special Greenpieces: An Eco-Comedy won rave reviews when it debuted on VTV in Canada and is now in feature rotation on Canada's new "Green Channel." Shot live at the Vancouver International Folk Festival the show, featured special guest appearances by such Canadian icons as Dr. David Suzuki and received an EarthVision award from PBS for, "excellence in environmental film-making." Other featured TV appearances include CBC's Sketchcom, VTV's Jim Byrnes Show and multiple appearances on Canada's number one morning show -- Canada AM. They've received two awards for their work with National Public Radio in the U.S and have also been heard in the US on Dr. Demento. Their song, Hockey Nut in Nashville is featured on the CD, Hockey's Greatest Hits. Since forming in the 1990s they've been featured at most major comedy festivals across Canada and have headlined at major theatres across Canada. Forgive Us We're Canadian has been heard on radio stations across Canada. The Guys: Mark Leiren-Young is one of Canada's most prolific and versatile writers -- he has written TV drama (The Collector, Psi Factor), comedy (Terminal City, Sketchcom), documentary (The Life & Times of Brian Orser, Grand Illusions) and animation (Dragon Booster, ReBoot, Ace Lightning). He has several feature films slated for production in the next year. Mark's stage plays have been produced across North America and he has recently received productions in Europe and Australia. Mark has also spent some solo time on major stages as the emcee of the Vancouver International Folk Festival and as a featured performer at the Edmonton Comedy Festival where he joined Codco legend Andy Jones as one of the stars of the festival "Gala." Kevin Crofton has been featured in such TV series as Point Blank and The New Addams Family. He's worked on a wide variety of independent video projects and has been extremely active in live theatre as a director and actor near his home in Gibsons, BC.
