Some of you may know me from my appearances on Star Search this year and last year. Some of you may know me from my work with Moby on his last album "18". I sang his ballad "At least We Tried" ( track 14). Some of you may even know me from my work with the New York based jazz-rock-funk-fusion band "Screaming Headless Torsos", or perhaps from my band of nine years, D'tripp. For those of you who know any of this stuff and for those of you who don't, this EP is a sampler of my many musical tastes.

After years of being in a band, I am now a solo artist. It's still a new world for me and I'm finding my way.
I have spent most of my years in live bands making very ecclectic music, blending styles and genres. I recorded Houseofreedom The EP Sessions as a sampler to explore some of the many genres that call to me. There is some Electronica, some Classic R&B, some House, some Dance and some hybrid-Rock/Pop. Through it all however, is me.
I plan on recording a full album this year and I originally thought that making an EP with such variety would help me choose a more focused direction for my next full album. I think it worked, but at core, I just like to mix things up. I like my rock funky and my funk with some spice on it .
On this record, I had a lot of help from friends, which is always nice. Dance producer Thomas Foyer, super- drummer Gene Lake, and guitar virtuoso Stew Cutler all lended their gifts and talents.
Gene has played on hits with Maxwell, Surface, Charles and Eddy, Me'shelle N'degeOcello and many more. He and I first played together in Screaming Headless Torsos. I don't think there is anything you can ask of a drummer that he can't do. Thomas is a master of the dance world and he was able help me completely rearrange some of these songs and bring them to life. Stew plays guitar on every track and as you will hear, they are all very different stylistically.
It's hard for an artist to ever be completely satisfied with a project, but I am happy about this EP. It was a great begining. A nice announcement that I'm here to make music. I'm even more excited about the next record. We're working on it right now. Enjoy the music.
