Sons of Riley is a new incarnation of a band that has been crankin' it out for decades. In previous life times they have been Basement Floor and Empire, but finally giving a nod to the genetic material that is their heritage they have settled on Sons of Riley. The band consists of the sibling team, Tim and Mark Miskimon. Tim who does most of the lead vocals on this CD also plays guitar, keyboards, bass, and percussion. He also recorded, produced, arranged, and mixed the CD. Mark does the honors on vocals, drums, percussion, and bodhran. Supporting the Sons of Riley are John Derry doing a fine job on guitar, and laying down the heavy stuff is Harry Jackson on vocals, bass, and guitar. This CD could be a primer for those bands who want to get back to the basics of good (and I mean good) 'ole rock 'n roll. This is mature rock including straight ahead rockers and power ballads. Now, don't take offense or be turned off by that term. What I mean is that these songs are MELODIC. Remember when that was a part of most rock songs? Slick production qualities give this CD the polish that adds to its listen ability. -Kat Dickinson of Maryland Music Monthly November, 2002 Check out the artist's website: http://www.basementfloor.com Track List: 1.
