Sam Densmore is a singer/songwriter and performer in the classic rock & roll tradition, currently based in his hometown of Coos Bay, OR.. His songs are bold, focused, delivered with an intense, blood and fire energy, and always memorable. As a producer (see tedconnelly.com) and member of now defunct Portland, OR., noise pop group Frequency db, he's developed a reputation for being adventurous and somewhat "spacey". He is known for utilizing heavy effects and quirky electronics to present recordings and live performances with an interesting, cutting edge slant. With its ever changing cast of characters, Sam Densmore's "Silverhawk" is the band that backs him up (currently featuring Sam on lead vocals and guitar, brother John Densmore on bass, and Paul Elkins on drums and backing vocals). "Flowers In June (Recollections of the Broken Times)" is a 4 song EP and is available on Olympia, Washington's Pop Sweatshop Records (www.popsweatshop.com). "This disc is a focused compilation of Pop songwriting," Densmore says. "The songs span over the last ten years of my songwriting career. I'm very happy with the way they turned out in terms of the production work that Jeremy Wilson and John Cluff did with us. It was also really cool to have Rob Allison (of Kill Rock Stars Two Ton Boa, former Frequency db and a co writer of "Flowers in June") in the studio doing back up vocals. I feel this is my best work to date. Look for us out on the road in support of the EP starting right now and continuing until it doesn't make sense anymore or until we resume work on a full length again."
