Olio Township welcomes you to Pass Out Fantastic. Here there are farmers of foresight, sinking sailors, fancy flyers, red alerts, bad ice, marble trees, whirling girls with dirty faces. . . . And Sounds in Heavy Doses. Chicago band Olio Township has produced its first studio album, "Pass Out Fantastic." After two home recording projects, the millennial "Waiting for the Sigh" and the "Candelabra" EP, the band has come of age in the studio. You do not have to renounce your love for music recorded on 4-tracks in order to admit that studios have certain advantages, like Rhodes electric pianos and the opportunity to add guitar layers until the cows come home. "Pass Out Fantastic" is a rock album. Reminiscent at times of Luna, Guided By Voices, and the Stone Roses, the song-writing is highly original. Olio Township travels an uncluttered path from an expressive kernel of lyrics to true harmonies and glorious colors--picking up all the straightforward melodies hitchhiking on the way.
