So what do they sound like . . . The music can only be described as a whimsical smack in the mouth to the commercialized sounds of apathy and self-loathing. Michael's Nervous incorporates a diverse landscape of rock and roll with a stream of self-reflection and hope. Michael's Nervous refers to the animal spirits of Radiohead, Travis, REM, Hanson, and Imperial Teen to guide them their craft. The story so far . . . Michael's Nervous was born in a suburban rental condominium in San Mateo, California, by two fellows named Dave and Dave who came from different middle class backgrounds, but shared the same irreverence for music and playing guitar. Dave and Dave debuted their musical ingenuity in a showcase of acoustic original and cover pieces to a bewildered crowd at the Palo Alto Queer Youth Winter Bash in 1999; at that moment Michael's Nervous became an institution. With the praise running over them like Catsup from a bottle, Gabe quickly signed on for bass duties. Gabe, a veteran of the San Mateo Art Rock Community, had reluctantly played a few times with the Daves in the luxury rental complex, but after witnessing the precocious Winter Bash performance, Gabe saw potential and hitched himself to that gravy train known as Michael's Nervous. Along with Michael's Nervous under separate billing that night, singing neo-lesbian-folk songs like nobody's business, was Butch and her blue guitar. Butch also felt the wondrous girth of the Michael's Nervous phenomenon and had to join in. Butch is not only an amazing guitarist and vocal stylist but also an amazing drummer. When this foursome first played together you could smell something in the air. Due to "creative differences," Dave Dvworak has since left the band and has been replaced with the reclusive and tormented lead guitarist Jeff Nakahara. Michael's Nervous now plays all over the San Francisco Bay Area. Check out the artist's website: http://www.michaelsnervous.com Track List: 1. Burst 2. East Bay 3. Watered Down 4. Ouija 5. Too Far 6.
