Songwriter, guitarist Michael Hirsch had collected thirty years' worth of home demo recordings, and decided to see how one new song might sound professionally recorded. That recording exceeded his expectations, and lead to a second song being recorded, and then a third. During that process a band concept slowly evolved as several of the same singers and musicians contributed to the recording of those songs. Over the next 4-1/2 years an entire album's worth of songs were recorded. Fumble Fingers is currently rehearsing for live performances and putting together new material for their next album. This first cd: "Look Mom! No Hands!! is a blend of pop, rock, with elements of blues and jazz featuring strong melodies, dynamic vocals by lead singer Velear Chavez and guest vocalist, Josh Fowler. Additional background vocals are contributed by Paul Dragotto. Exciting lead guitar work by Steve Denison and John Martin create an undercurrent of tension when added to the solid rhythm guitar work of Michael Hirsch. The compact disc was produced, engineered and remastered by Kurt Opel who also contributed keyboards, orchestration guitar, bass and drum programing. The cd was described by a Grammy nominated songwriter as being the most diverse collection of songs she's heard in many years. One music industry executive has recently described the songs as being well crafted, and constructed. Overall the cd has been favorably received since it's release in April.
