Fred Savage and the Unbeatables formed in November 2001 when, assembled in drummer Steve Tacl's basement, several Cathedral High School friends noticed that a band might be formed from their ranks. What started out as a whim, however, grew into a powerful collection of ambitious musicians excited by making a playing good, complex music - and always with a sense of humor. Inspired by an interesting range of major influences, including the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Reel Big Fish, Less than Jake, and Ben Folds, FSU decided to infuse rock and roll music with horns and vocal harmony arrangements. Each member of the band makes contributions to the creation of a single tune. So far, the creative process has been extremely successful; after developing enough of their own material, these ten men recorded a full-length, self-titled album and have since been supporting it state-wide. The band has played with such acts as Slip Twister, the Stearns County Pachanga Society, Bobby Vee and the Vees, the Exies, De La Soul, Everclear, and Three Dog Night.
