Two years after their first album, Down to the Last Drop, 12 Pearls are back with the EP Listen, featuring five songs about loss, love, weddings, heartache and leaky roofs. Recorded with producer Ed Knoll (best known for his work with Caroline's Spine) at Yellow Dog Studios in Tulsa over seven months, Listen marks the debut of new drummer Matt Crabtree and the continued maturation of the songwriting of Kit Nowlin, Brandon Jackson and Jordan Doolen. Imagine, if you can, Superdrag and Sugarcult jamming in a basement when Sterephonics and Better than Ezra drop by and demand to be included, too. Listen marked the continued songwriting maturation of No Justice guitarist Brandon Jackson, as he sings lead vocals on two tracks, "Always" and "Make It Better."
