Rogue Forty (2001-2005) creatively blended catchy piano-based melodies with cacophonic discord, and counted Ben Folds Five and Pixies as equal influences. The band comprised songwriter/pianist Andrew Wood, bassist Chris Hull, drummer Robert Caruso, and guitarist Derek Baird (joining the band post-"Underdogs"). Their full-length album, "Underdogs," was released in March 2004, including such highlights as the jilting opening of "Loser's Mantra," the thoughtful simplicity of "Momentums," and the punk piano crowd favorites "Cyanide" and "Silver Spoon." Rogue Forty disbanded in summer 2005. Singer and songwriter Andrew Wood has gone on to co-found the band Bridges and Powerlines.
