Rainwalkers Biography Musical Style: Pop / Rock Band Members: Kevin Lowrie - Vocals, Guitar Mark Rasmussen - Vocals, Piano/Keys Robb Mitchell - Synthesizers/Keys Perry Briault - Drums Paul Cameron - Lead Guitar Jon Frederiksen - Bass Kevin Lowrie and Mark Rasmussen formed the original Rainwalkers line up in the late 1980's in North Vancouver, BC. They are the only original members remaining. In those days, the band played a mixture of original and cover material and did backup shows for "The Grapes of Wrath" and "Colin James". The group disbanded after only two years when Lowrie and Rasmussen moved on to pursue other musical interests. In 2001, Lowrie was writing songs and jamming with long time friends Robb Mitchell and Perry Briault when the idea of recruiting Rasmussen for a song writing session came up. The session proved to be such a success that Rasmussen was asked to join the existing unnamed band. With Mitchell already filling keyboard duties the notion of adding more keys was initially seen as a possible overstatement. However, ironically the blend of Rasmussen on piano and Mitchell on synthesizer began to shape what would become the band's signature sound. The final recruitments for the band were Paul Cameron and Jon Frederiksen, joining in 2002. A high school friend of Mitchell and Lowrie, Frederiksen had played bass in various bands with virtually all members of Rainwalkers including "Atlantis Bus" with Rasmussen in the mid '90s. Cameron's arrival in 2002 solidified the group and the second phase of the Rainwalkers began. The Rainwalkers have played several venues in Greater Vancouver and have recently recorded their first CD, "Never Miss a Day", distributed independently.
