More than Words is a versatile CD, but the main vein of music is contemporary rock. Songs like "Welcome Tomorrow" are pop rockish, while songs like "Lead Me Home" are clearly ballad material. More than Words has something for everyone without losing identity because of too much diversity. Youth find it catchy and fun while adults enjoy the lyrical depth and melodic/chordal complexity each song offers. Musicians generally find the music appealing because it's not too easy, but not impossible, while still being fun to play. Several songs from the album have received airplay in the states, as well as overseas. Chris has been involved with music since he was 8 years old, classically trained as a concert pianist until his mid-teen years, serving as accompanist at several different churches in Tennessee. From then on he trained in contemporary and rock keyboards and begun leading worship at various churches and events. Chris learned to play drums at 13, then bass and guitar later on. He has played with many bands on many different instruments. He has played with Dove Award winner Clay Crosse, southern gospel group The Dills, and many others. As a college student, he trained as a classical vocalist. He has performed in an opera, Puccini's "Gianni Schicci", and has sung at many public recitals and repertoire classes. An alum of Union University (Jackson, Tenn.), Chris is now the Worship Minister at Oak Street Baptist Church in Graham, Texas. Check out the artist's website: http://www.chrislyles.com Track List: 1.
